Are you a people pleaser?

I read that 10% – 15 % of the people we meet in life will never like us.  SO – 85% to 90 % will like us!! 🙂

So why allow such a small number of people to control our life and scare us in how we choose to respond.

Let’s try this to see if you are a people pleaser.

If I   ______________then _____________.

Put one of these words in the first blank to get you started.

  • Confront
  • Speak out
  • Don’t do
  • Speak up
  • Stop
  • Tell the truth
  • Don’t ask
  • Keep fearing
  • Voice

Do you allow others to control YOU in what you say and what you don’t say? Yes or No?

Bottom line it comes down to who you will live your life for, or to please.

You cannot control how people feel. You cannot control what people will think about. And you cannot control what they will say about you or not say about you. So it’s a lot of wasted time and energy thinking and worrying about what others like about you or do not like about you.

So back to who you will live your life for!

Man or God?

For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:10 NASB).

I am a recovering people pleaser. I had to break through this addiction. I know this trap well and it is no way to live. I choose to live my life to please God. He is the one I will bow down to someday. And I no longer live for a committee of “they.”

How about you, ready to STOP living for others and instead, become more you?
