How do you wait?

Do you feel as if you’re waiting for the fog to lift?

Waiting may be a bad word to you. Perhaps, you were told as a child.

No, you have to wait until your birthday.

No, you have to wait until Christmas.

Or no, you have to wait until you are 16 to get contacts.

Or, wait until you graduate from high school.

Or, you have to wait until you are 18 to travel out of the country.

Waiting is not dead space or blank time. It is the day by day of life passing.

We live in a quick fix society, and many times people do not want to wait.

Yet, t-i-m-e is a must in order to grow.

How do you wait?

Do you rush through a wait?

I suggest, you don’t rush through a wait, as God might have a gold nugget for you.

In the book 𝘖𝘯 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭 by Bradley Baurain, an author that endorsed the book said,  “Most people consider waiting to be the dead space between what’s really important to them” and yet,  “Waiting is a discipline, a holy calling, and the spiritual landscape where we meet God.” John Koessler.

That is rich. Let me break this down.

  • Waiting is a discipline, how do you like that? Think of lifting weights as a discipline to tone your body. So what could waiting be toning you up for?

  • A holy calling, I do agree. It is tough to wait. Focus and patience are part of that.

  • Spiritual landscape where we meet God, oh yes. I exhort you to go there in the wait.

This is what I have asked God for in my seasons of waiting.

  1. What am I to learn?
  2. And what can I do while I am in the wait?
