What does humility look like?
Why am I here? Ask the hard questions to wise ones.
Most of the world watched the memorial service of Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Kirk built his life on a deep foundation of Truth to empower and equip himself and his ministry as he grew in being known.
One speaker at his memorial was Charlie’s Kirk’s teacher. What his teacher said in few words and few minutes, was BIG. Perhaps, I am biased. I too am a teacher. I will include his link on my blog at the end if you care to listen.
Why am I here? What does humility look like?
Dr. Larry Arnn from Hillsdale College in Michigan, shares how Charlie reached out to him at the age of 19 after the professor had drilled him with questions and Charlie did not have answers.
Humbly, he asked Dr. Arnn what he shall do. And Dr. Arnn told him what he must do… and suffering was in his answer.
Just in the few words that Dr. Arnn shared I heard the heart of Charlie Kirk:
1. A humble heart, as he asked, what must I do to change.
2. A man that sought wisdom.
3. And a man that listened to a wise teacher
4. And then did what he said.
“A man’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor” (Proverbs 29:23 NASB).
So how about us.
- Do we hunger to grow and become whom God has purposed us to be?
- Or do we give up?
- Do we risk by being humble and seeking help to grow?
Charlie went after his growth. He knew there was more he had to learn to become who GOD was calling him to be. That hunger for more Truth, more wisdom, more knowledge (not to puff up) but to truly have answers that are solid and God led, is a beautiful appetite to be used to one’s capacity and also humble enough to seek wise HELP.
Many Christians want the crown, but not the way of the cross. The way up in God’s Kingdom is down.
What are you willing to do to grow? Seek your purpose Know why you are here!
