What is life purpose coaching?
It is this verse in action, “A plan in the heart of a person is like deep water, But a person of understanding draws it out” (Proverbs 20:5 NASB).
A coach draws your stories out of you through asking questions to guide you into your lane of life purpose. A coach has a unique ability to know how to ask questions in certain ways and in order.
The coach connects with you as she cares for your heart. She wants to hear it all, the good, bad, ugly, and the limiting beliefs that might be holding you back.
Coaching is a profession and training and certifications is to be apart of that.
A coach listens. She is to hear where a person is and how the woman wants to get over there, but the woman does not know how to get over there. That is where a coach comes in.
Your life purpose is embedded upon your heart and within. Life circumstances can scramble your dream and cause you to be left buried and you wonder, what next?
A caution to watch for when looking for a coach, not all coaches are life purpose coaches.
Let me share a piece of my story to help clarify.
Over thirty-five years ago, I recognized the desire to speak and teach and write for women. However, my motive back then was skewed with self-righteousness. Life went on and I taught little children. But God! He began calling me out to shift to teach women while in my early 40’s. Teach, speak, and write for women and then coaching was just starting to come out into the world!
BY my late 30’s I began to pray for a woman to listen to me and to be able to handle my heavy-hard-story. This woman needed to be wise and discerning. I even prayed for someone that understood entrepreneurs, as that was a big part of my journey. I needed help in connecting the dots to my story, I couldn’t go forward without help. I needed clarity. And God answered and provided my own coach when I was in Life Purpose Coach training!
We can make our plan. Write out our steps and goals. Yet the curve balls of life hit, and sometimes they hit very hard sending us to our knees often, or in many different directions. However our dream and purpose is still deep within us.
A coach that is understanding knows how to draw your story out of you. I liken it to pulling taffy, if you ever did that as a child. I had an aunt that knew how to make taffy and we would have taffy pulling parties where we stood at the kitchen table and stretched it back and forth. Pulling the gooey colored taffy – it made the taffy that much better.
But back to your story, sometimes a coach is to lovingly pull a story out of you that is stuck within. But a wise coach can pull it out without too much pain and for sure no shame at all to YOU!
