How do I discover my life purpose?
I want to know it, so how do I discover it? This is a BIG question and hard to answer in a short blog. There are many books written on this topic. I know my discovery pathway was like a hunt. It does take time, bowing, diligence, and a BIG desire. It’s not a one step fix. More like many baby steps on the pathway of your call. I started stepping into the specific call 15 years ago, yet teaching was way before that. But, to die to my dream(s) and my own life plan had to happen first.
This is how I stepped in a short version.
First, I looked to my Creator. He is the one that fashioned me and prepackaged me for my life purpose. I exist, because He wills me to be alive. He could take my life at any moment. I have lived the life-death experience up-close. My Dad and brother both left this earth without a forewarning. I was with my Mom when she took her last breath. Since I am still breathing He has a plan for me. The goal is to glorify Him while using the strengths and giftedness He has given me. And I know when I am in my purposeful zone of coaching, speaking, teaching, and writing on behalf of hurting hungry women that want their life to count.
Second, I pay attention to my S.H.A.P.E. by Erik Rees (Spiritual giftedness, Heart-passions, Abilities, Personality, and my Life Experiences.)
Do-Be-Do
Third, I live “Do-Be-Do” from the book, Pathway to Purpose for Women, by Dr. Katie Brazelton. Do what He has called you to do today, Be more like Christ, and DO the final Do—the unique purpose He has created you to do before you die. (I am to coach, speak, teach, and write on behalf of the needs of hurting hungry women that desire to discover their life purpose.)
Fourth, I continue to learn and grow. I use lots of tools and coaching material for women to discover and know without a doubt who God has created them to become. Women take a variety of self-assessment tests. Plus the Strengths Test and Enneagram Tests, and of course your Spiritual gift test. Plus, my coaching clients read The Enable Me, Lord, to Shift books to gain truth, growth, and clarity. And most importantly, they are coached.
