How do I live in uncertain times?
I wrote this devotional way before COVID-19 as I lived, really lived in uncertain times for over two decades.
Now more than ever, people want security while the world shakes and quakes with ALL the political unrest, deception, health concerns, and breeding of fear across the news!
Be wise. Be wise listeners and readers!
Life ramps up. It brings uncertainty, unsettledness, and unstable times.
Weather changes. People change. Jobs change. Neighborhoods change, schools change, children change, and friends change. Malls change, churches change, and throw in a computer, cell phone, and all of the technology, and it’s a nonstop change.
Even Facebook and Microsoft Word change.
The stock market changes, budgets change, home’s change, health care changes, and of course body’s change. And you get upset if your life changes? How can it not?
Where does a woman stand in the land of change and uncertainty?
If she lives by her feelings, one day she’s full of faith and the next day faithless. Then she stumbles and tumbles into doubt believing God shrinks to her size and style offering her insecurity.
Where can she find security that is the steady day-in and day-out kind?
Only in one person, with God as her source, a self-sufficient supplier who offers a permanent provision of stability, steadfastness, and consistency on changeless ground.
I the LORD, do not change … (Malachi 3:6a NASB).
She chooses to believe this short, simple, Truth, Jesus is security and certain!
Webster’s online dictionary states security is “the freedom from danger, fear, and anxiety.”
Only God Himself can give women freedom from fear, anger, anxiety, and offer a pledge of security.
His Word is solid and secure—forever.
Pick up the Bible. Open it. Read it.
What God says is true, is true. What He says He will do, He’ll do. He is the changeless, consistent, Father God, who cannot be diminished down or chiseled away. For I, the LORD, do not change …
Do you believe that simple short verse?
What if you chose to anchor your whole life on Jesus? No more shifting sands or whims and ways. How steady could you live your life out?
