Recently, I have looked at a few homes and I walked out of them without offering a bid.
Why?
The foundation under two of the houses was rotten to the core, wet to the floor, wreaked of sewage, and the main floors were being propped up from the basement, so they would not sag or collapse. WOW!
Home sellers and humans all love a quick fix and turn around these days.
- Easy to slap paint on the walls.
- Even put in new fixtures and all the cabinets, looking like a true makeover.
- Pictures look great online.
- Even says, “Zero square footage in the basement.” True. But they don’t tell you more of the story.
I can relate this to a woman’s life.
- It is so easy to slap some makeup on, lip colors, fluff the hair, and you know all the spiff.
- Dress UP.
- Post a picture
- Look all together…
BUT…
Underneath, a woman’s foundation is shaking and quaking with false idols of people pleasing, anger, criticalness, sadness, bitterness, hatred, jealousy, addictions, and more so.
Don’t let that be you and if it is you, unpack the pain and the mess underneath you, so you can get your feet stepping in the right direction while you grow a firm foundation.
And that begins with you knowing your core values or called your guiding principles.

The Word says, “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock” ( Matthew 7:24 NASB).
