What do we do with addictions?

Years ago, one of my addictions was the way I reacted. I needed to learn to respond to life issues in a healthy way. And the book, The Anger Trap, by Dr. Les Carter was a great book where I devoured it, lived it, taught it, and coached from it.

God used that book to teach me and break me of my reacting. It set me free, and yet, He showed me through the power of the Holy Spirit, my coaching skills at that time in my journey.

Addiction is a slippery slope. I want you to have freedom, don’t you?

Do you have any addictions?

Once a woman is hooked to an addiction sin grows, as the bondage becomes more entrenched in the life sucking behavior. Life truly breaks down and vomits all over into relationships, finances, jobs, and anything in that person’s way.

Smashed.

Truth does set free. But, the addict must look in the mirror of Truth and get help so she can be released from the deception of denial. Once denial is pricked, the hole for more truth can be expanded to take over.

Coaching can be the conduit of change offering hope to another individual and coming alongside the recovering individual. A Coach ask the probing questions that enlighten and empower the woman to see Truth from their own reactive cycle and to step out, one step at a time, toward freedom living.

Once a woman gets a taste of victory, and then to learn that God wants to set her free, that sprinkle of victory whets her appetite creating a desire to be released from the dark addictive hold. She longs and yearns for more freedom.

He then enlarges her heart for more victory. AND she hungers to be used for her purpose, His way and His plan for her life. He wants her to be free so she can then address people anger free on her purposeful pathway.

What a great opportunity a coach has to guardrail clients in truth, love, and grace yet coach them to stay TRUE to Truth for whole living.

Once the mind is saturated and bedded down to truth, the behavior changes. That impacts a client’s emotions to celebrate true JOY.

“ And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2 NASB).

Restoration is His plan.

He desires we are reconnected to Him as much as possible while living in a broken fallen world and living amidst sinners, including dealing with our own sin-filled issues, yet longing for freedom and  growth.
