5 Masks Women Hide Behind While in Abuse

I know these well.

  1. Busyness. I am so busy. Makes one feel super needed when she is being ignored in the abuse.
  2. Perfectionism Girl. I have to do it perfectly or I get in trouble and to hide the truth of the matter of the abuse.
  3. Fear. What if? If only? Fear is the weapon used on a woman to stay in the abuse. Women are so whittled down and taught to believe they can not make it on their own without the abuser.

4. People pleaser. Women do and do and do, so he/she, the abuser, will say we did it well, instead of criticize. We hit the bullseye only to have it moved on us.

5. Passive or Avoidance, the woman tries to voice. Yet, is the one who is blamed, as he/she powers up and over the woman. Many women cower and go into hiding even longer, Shhhh.

Tear off the mask. It gets old and worn and a woman realizes she is exhausted. All at a dead end living. Do you hide behind any of these masks?
