Become a wise woman or man as emotional abuse grows in our world. Toxicity is the ingredient in abuse. Emotional abuse is deceptive. The abuser wants what you have (it maybe your confidence) and he or she will power up and power over you to control YOU!
Five warning signs that person maybe toxic.
The abuser uses:
- Flattery, he or she flatters you. “What a calming voice you have.” “Love that skirt on you.”
- He or she saddles up too quickly to you emotionally.
-
- Watch for this.
- His or her goal is to use you.
- He or she wants you to trust them like – now. Do not take the bait.
- He or she may say, “Haven’t we met before?” To get you to TRUST them NOW!
-
3. He or she may state, “I have been searching for you here and there and everywhere.”
4. He or she wants your attention on their time table, like now or when they choose. Usually abusers do not want to wait, just saying. Be wise.
5. They will dive into asking you personal questions, like they care, but that is a pretense to set you up!
This is only the beginning to a longer list…
If you are trapped in abuse or headed that way or you do not know how to step out, get help, you are worth it! When you work with me, you will learn to become YOU.
According to the 2023 Impact Report on The National Domestic Violence Hotline Website,
- 93 % of the calls were categorized as Emotional and Verbal abuse.
- Physical abuse came in second, 64 % the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
“Emotional abuse is not normal. Emotional abuse is the consistent pattern of being treated unfairly and unjustly over a period of time, usually by the same person or people. It can also be a onetime traumatic event that is left unresolved. Emotional abuse is an intentional assault by one person on another to so distort the victim’s view of self that the victim allows the abuser to control him or her.” Page 12 Jantz, Gregory L., and Ann McMurray.
