Three Tips to Face Obstacles!
Why do we put off facing items? Is it a time issue, or it is it the item? For me, it is a little of both right now and changing cell phones and laptops are two of my least favorite “to dos.”
Three Tips to Face Obstacles!
IT also maybe, we do not like to feel uncomfortable and confrontation can be rocky!
Daily, I use my computer, so it’s hard to cross out dates to make this change occur. Plus, tech issues, can be so hard, when one does not get every little detail to what occurs and to the why.
But, I scheduled my appointment with the Tech Squad in this big box store to drop off my computers. A brand new computer bought from the store and one I used.
I was informed it would be at least two days, he never mentioned a third day. Nope, did not.
Matter of fact this man was not the kindest. I would say he was more or less, sit down lady and get out of my face while I jot down this info. The sad thing is, he did not type out what I asked to be done. Did not, totally ignored what I asked for.
So you know, the manager is in the KNOW and fully aware that I write for a living. So the Geek Squad in this store really messed up except for Andrew, who was from another store mind you.
And to spare you hours of details, on a Saturday, I paced and prayed after holding my head in my hands, wanting to cave and sob when the tech man showed me my life on a microchip. He stated, “Your info on your back up drive has been encrypted. Gone! Poof!”
Also mind you, my old lap top had been carried into the store opened with a hinge that was broken and hemorrhaged. To close up my laptop was a NO! I even left a yellow POST IT NOTE stuck to the computer, to please close it carefully, if they closed it at all, as I wanted that to still work when I left the store.
Do you think anyone read those notes?
When I was informed that my new computer did not have the JOB done to it, after I left it for three days, the manager zoomed in to listen to me.
He listened and apologized and gave me a $50 gift card as that is all the his supervisor would allow. However, we are talking three days they had my new and old machine and I am a business owner and my old machine was in worse shape when I picked it up.
I stood my ground.
I was NOT leaving that story without my working computers. Literally, they had closed up my old laptop and the top and the bottom did not match plus, they pulled out the microchip.
Four hours on a Saturday, I paced and prayed and waited, after they had my my laptops for three days!
I share this for two main reasons:
- Having a hard back up drive, does not necessarily mean it is working or actually saving, so check yours out.
- We will have obstacles as we keep stepping to His call. One of the tech men told me he felt horrible when I told him, “My life was on that computer.” That man, Andrew, got my prayers, as I paced and prayed and anxiety wanted to rule and ruin my day. I told him I was praying for him.
Hours later, I left the store with two working computers and all my data for the most part was on the new computer.
Three tips to face obstacles:
- Stand your ground.
- Get to the person in charge of the issue. And talk to them in a kind, but a firm voice.
- Stay standing until you get your answer one way, or the clarity you need so you are stepping forward.
We will face obstacles, but not dealing with them is worse off, so learn to confront in a kind way to gain clarity.

When women work with me they learn to face and confront their issues head on. Learn to confront obstacles!
