Five Recipes to Destress this Holiday Season!
We all know the picture. Running here and there making memories and merry. Yet, we are running on empty and depleted and burdened. Shopped out, and now we have baking to do and the nights are packed to attend the school and/or the church programs.
Then add in the unrealistic expectations with traditions and expectations we place upon ourselves. Plus time to do the the decorations and the cleaning and the card making and more. And then you look at the social media feeds and you about flip out with stress and guilt.
It’s no wonder relationships are as strung out like the ribbon that dangles from a wrapped gift. Long, dangling, and ready to be cut.
It’s all unraveling.
Five Recipes to Destress this holiday season.
- First, grant yourself a recipe of permission to change it up. Slow down. Stop. Take Inventory!
- Make a recipe of your YES list that you must do. Skinny the YES list down to the must do and must for you and your loves.
- Make your recipes of no thanks list that you say, no thanks to this year. It is all good. Grace yourself.
- And make your recipe list you are shortening up. For example, I am buying a pizza or making a homemade pizza instead of a ten course meal that the kids and or the grands do NOT eat.
- And add in the selfcare recipe for YOU too. Build in time to look at the lights. Take a walk in nature, feed your soul. Just do it.
Your goals for the new recipes are to:
- Keep the meaning of the holidays at the front of your mind!
- Navigate through the stress of the holidays in a healthier way!
- Find peace and joy in the midst of the holidays.
- Take time out for you to slow down and enjoy.
