You may sense these within you. Three feelings we may have when we are not living out our purpose!

  1. You feel as if you are a spectator of life, just going through all the doing, the doing, the doing, and a perpetual lingering exhaustion haunts you and bites at your heels

  2. You feel you are living a lower life emotionally and faith wise. You know it. And you feel as if you are on autopilot, no joy or purpose, or drive. And secretly you wonder, is this all there is to life?

  3. The idea that you have in your mind: a project, a job, a ministry, a book, a musical or something creative does not  go away. Yet you do nothing about it and it keeps popping up here and there. You feel that is hopeless.

Feelings can be like warning flags. Yet feelings are not what we are to base our life on.

If I feel good I will do this. If I feel bad I will not do this.

Feelings can be fickle like the wind. And they can deceive us.

  • I don’t feel God’s presence.
  • I don’t feel like being happy.
  • I don’t feel like going to work.
  • I don’t feel like anyone loves me.
  • I don’t feel like being kind to you.
  • I don’t feel like driving the speed limit.

Feelings are NOT to dictate our life.

If our feelings are attached to people or things, then we leave our own brain out of our life. It stunts our growth work. We’re living our life based off of what others say or do, or not do, and say. And matter of fact in the Word of God it says nothing about if you feel good, do it. No, that is why praise is sometimes called a sacrifice of praise, as we do not feel like thanking GOD.

So how do we shift one, two, and three warnings with the feelings of purposelessness to more purposefulness?

  1. You feel as if you are a spectator of life, just going through all the doing, the doing, the doing, and a perpetual lingering exhaustion haunts you and bites at your heels. Let me ask you, where is your worth coming from? Does your to-do list have too much power over you? Is your heart space on your to do list? Name one of the meaningless items you can get rid off from your list and add your heart on your to-do list.
  2. You feel you are living a lower life emotionally and faith wise. Let me ask you, do you want to live out your life purpose and trust the Lord? Do you even invite the LORD into your daily life?
  3. That idea…are you willing to risk? Are you willing to step toward it by faith…not feelings, but faith.

These often stop women and men from living out their life purpose.

  • Grief.
  • Loss.
  • Thoughts.
  • Difficulty.
  • Second guessing.
  • Hard work.
  • Grit.
