I help and coach struggling, part-time writers, part-time artist, part-time “creatives,” perhaps like you, experience true freedom as an author or artist, or creative being, doing what you love!
I love to learn and to create. It resonates deep within me. I have done all kinds of crafts in my life!
BUT BOOKS outshine them all.
- Books surround me in my office.
- They are my bent and love.
- They are my tools to do life.
- A book is always packed in my bag as I travel.
- They bring me great peace, joy, and feed the gnawing thirst for growth.
- Coupled with the love of books, is the love I have for workbooks and worksheets.
- A new workbook gets me so excited as I fan through the clean pages anticipate filling the empty blanks with the truth. Place in my hand a colorful pen, highlighter, or a yellow marker and I am ready to devour.
I knew in 3rd grade I was meant to become a teacher.
I hungered to grow and learn. I recall arriving home after school one day and my observant mother noticed I had a nice new black and white 9 x 11 spelling book. I was sitting at the kitchen table in my glory “doing school” when my mom asked me, “Where did I get the new Spelling book?” Well, “from school of course,” came my answer.
Next, she asked what any wise mom would ask, “Does your teacher know you have it?” Well, sad to say, “No,” the teacher did not know it. I had decided that day in school, that they had plenty of extra Spelling books stacked neatly in that huge gray metal double door cabinet. I helped myself. Needless to say, in which I am appreciative that my mom told me, “Erase all that you wrote in it, take it back tomorrow, and you will need to apologize to your teacher for taking something that is not yours.” And, I did do that.
However, that did not take away the love I had for learning or for worksheets and workbooks. It is still within, as the passion I have to teach, coach, and create curriculum for women and write my books.
So far four books are out of me, two are pending from publishers. And more books to come. And I have learned so much in my dozen years of writing that now I want to empower others!
