Is someone projecting on you?
First, what is that and what does it look like? Projecting is when another person tells you, who you are, what you are thinking, and what you are feeling – based on their own internal messy world.
They push their hurt on you: their wounds, their thoughts, their feelings, and try to control you and pin you down. It can feel like they are vomiting on you. Think of forecast, predict, throw out or extend outward. Watch for these two words… You are…
You are a liar. You stop, pause and think, no, I am not.
You are a gossiper. You stop, pause and think, no, I am not.
You are an angry person. Well, maybe once upon a time, but no more. Own any sin of yours. But, don’t pick theirs up. That is on them.
You’re not a good (wife, mom, and employee). Examine their words and see if there is any truth in their words? If there is not, pitch it off of you.
You are not a people person. Really, I like people. I disagree.
You are not kind. Really, I believe I am. Maybe at times I can be rough around the edges.
You are rude. Really, I do not think so.
Is someone projecting on you?
When a person attacks you with projecting their garbage on you, you have to decide what to do with that information.
1. Ask yourself, is any of that true about you?
2. If that is a yes, then learn and change!
3. If not, let it fall to the ground.
If you are living with someone that is projecting their insides on to you, do you desire to step free from their projecting?
Have you ever considered being coached to address their projecting on you? Be coached to live!
